Elizabeth Plancon on Kundalini Yoga: Awakening Your Life Force & Expanding Your Capacity to Receive | The WyzeCast Show™ Ep. 46

In this episode I sit down with Elizabeth Plancon — kundalini yoga teacher, somatic healer, manifestation mentor, and founder of the Radiance Vault — for a conversation that reframed something I have been circling for a long time. Why do people who do all the right things still self-sabotage what they are trying to manifest? Elizabeth has a very specific answer to that question, and it has nothing to do with mindset and everything to do with capacity.

What We Cover in This Episode

  • What kundalini energy is and why it becomes dormant — and how kundalini yoga gently wakes it back up
  • The critical difference between kundalini energy and kundalini yoga — and why this distinction matters if you have heard scary awakening stories
  • Why the ego is not your enemy, and how to tell if you are hearing it or your higher self
  • Why you self-sabotage the things you manifest — and the energetic mechanism underneath it
  • How a 3-to-11-minute daily practice can release limiting beliefs, calm the nervous system, and expand your aura
  • The collarbone breathwork: six minutes to reset fight-or-flight, anywhere, including an airport bathroom
  • The stress release meridian point between your ring finger and pinky — for when you have 30 seconds
  • Silent counseling, EFT tapping, past life regression, and timeline therapy — and when each one is the right tool

What Kundalini Actually Is

Kundalini is life force energy. It is the fullest expression of who you actually are — your authentic self before society, parents, religion, and conditioning told you who you were supposed to be instead. According to the tradition, this energy lives at the base of the spine, coiled like a serpent, and it becomes dormant over time as we suppress our true nature to fit in, stay safe, and meet the expectations of the people around us.

The goal is not to do something to yourself from the outside. It is to wake up what was always already there.

Kundalini yoga is the practice for doing that gently. Elizabeth is emphatic about the distinction because people hear “kundalini awakening” and have concerns — there are stories of jarring, difficult experiences, and those can happen through plant medicine ceremonies or physical trauma to the base of the spine. Kundalini yoga is the slow, intentional, body-informed version. You practice, your capacity expands a little, you practice more, your capacity expands more. No poof, no sudden overwhelm. Just a gradual opening that your nervous system can actually integrate.

The Capacity Problem

This is the most practically useful concept in the conversation, and I want to give it space.

Most people who struggle with manifesting are not doing the wrong things. They are calling in what they desire, and then unconsciously self-sabotaging it — spending money the moment it arrives, ending relationships before they deepen, backing away from opportunities right at the threshold of breakthrough. Elizabeth describes this as a capacity problem. The body and nervous system do not feel safe holding more. Abundance is available. The person is not yet energetically large enough to contain it.

The aura — the electromagnetic field each person generates — tends to contract under conditioning, trauma, and chronic stress. When it is contracted, what we call in gets rejected by the body before it can land. Kundalini yoga expands the aura. It makes you literally bigger on an energetic level so that what you are magnetizing has somewhere to land and stay.

This also resolves the worthiness question, which Elizabeth addresses directly. Abundance is not something to be earned. It is a birthright. The work is not to become worthy of more — it is to feel safe holding it.

The Ego Is Not Your Enemy

Elizabeth offers one of the most useful reframes on the ego I have heard. The ego’s job is to keep you safe. Anything unknown, anything new, anything that requires expansion is registered by the ego as a potential threat. That is not a character flaw — it is a survival mechanism doing exactly what it was built to do.

The problem is that the ego cannot distinguish between real danger and growth. So it will stop you from pursuing a new career with the same urgency it would use to get you out of a burning building. Understanding this does not make the ego go away, but it changes your relationship to what it says. You can hear it, acknowledge it, and choose not to follow it — because you have learned to tell the difference.

Elizabeth’s simple rule for distinguishing ego from higher self: when you hear “I,” that is your ego. When you hear “you,” that is your higher self or your intuition speaking to you. She offered that as something that came through mid-conversation as she was answering a different question. I think it is worth sitting with.

What a Practice Actually Looks Like

Kundalini yoga is nothing like what you picture when you think of yoga. There is no long stretching. There is no holding still in a pose for minutes at a time and breathing peacefully. The movements are specific, often repetitive, and done with active breathwork — including breath of fire, which is exactly as energizing as it sounds.

Each exercise is called a kriya. Kriyas target specific intentions — anxiety, memory, intuition, prosperity, moving the needle forward in a business, ego release. They range from three to eleven minutes. A full daily practice might be 20 to 22 minutes. Some days Elizabeth does a single three-minute kriya and calls it done.

She was told by two teachers that her muscle issues meant she should not practice. A third teacher showed her that the practice is adaptable — you can do it in a chair, from a bed, with modifications, with breaks, with visualization when the body cannot complete the movement. Intention is what activates the energy. The body follows as capacity allows.

During her certification, she practiced for two and a half hours every morning before sunrise for 40 days straight. She is not recommending that to anyone. But she mentions it because the journey from barely being able to hold a position for one minute to sustaining it for eleven was the most transformative confidence building she has ever done.

The Collarbone Breathwork

If you take one practical thing from this episode, make it this. When you are activated, triggered, overwhelmed, or simply cannot calm down — this six-minute breathwork practice using your hands and collarbone will reset your nervous system. Elizabeth has used it in an airport bathroom. Her clients have used it before exams and walked out acing them when they had been blanking from nerves.

And if you do not have six minutes — if you are in the meeting right now, on your lap where no one can see — press gently on the webbing between your ring finger and your pinky. That is a meridian stress release point. Take slow deep breaths while holding it. It works in 30 seconds.

The Other Modalities

Elizabeth is certified in several modalities beyond kundalini yoga, and she briefly introduced each one:

Silent counseling — similar to the Emotion Code, it identifies where stored emotions are lodged in the meridian system, traces them back to their origin point (this lifetime, past lives, or the womb), and releases them through breathwork and acupressure.

EFT tapping — emotional freedom technique using meridian tapping to release limiting beliefs and stored emotions, with custom scripts for specific issues.

Past life regression — for patterns that repeat across lifetimes, tracing the emotional root and healing it at the source.

Timeline therapy — similar to past life regression but with the added ability to move forward into the future timeline and plant the energetic seeds of what you want to create.
